Ridgeline Raises $250M Series E, Valuing AI-Native Fintech at $1.425 Billion

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev., Sept. 16, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Ridgeline, the AI-native investment management platform, today announced it has raised $250 million in a Series E round led by Founder and Chairman Dave Duffield. The invitation-only round valued Ridgeline at $1.425 billion and drew significant participation from Ridgeline customers and affiliates, including Motley Fool Ventures, associates of Smead Capital Management, and Patrick O’Shaughnessy, CEO of Positive Sum and host of the Invest Like the Best podcast.

“Great enterprise software starts with a team willing to rethink how an industry works,” said Dave Duffield. “That’s what the team at Ridgeline is doing for investment management—building a platform designed not just for where the industry is today, but where it’s going. The opportunity ahead is tremendous.”

Duffield has anchored Ridgeline since its inception with a clean-sheet vision: replace the investment management industry’s antiquated, legacy systems with a single, cloud-native platform built for the AI era. Ridgeline brings together trading, portfolio accounting, compliance, reporting, and client servicing in a unified data model, rather than the patchwork of disconnected, on-premise systems many firms have run on for decades.

That distinction matters more as firms race to adopt AI. Rather than the bolted-on AI layer characteristic of legacy software, Ridgeline’s unified data model gives AI the full, permissioned context it needs to move from answering questions to safely taking action — preparing for client meetings, reconciling accounts, pre-trade and post-trade compliance — with built-in audit and governance. This foundation now underpins more than $750 billion in AUM/AUA committed to the platform, as a growing number of asset and wealth managers move onto Ridgeline.

Ridgeline is the future of the industry. There’s truly nothing else like it,” said O’Shaughnessy. “Their team, product, collaboration, and pace of innovation have set a new standard for investment management software.

This round is distinguished by the participation of Ridgeline customers—world-class professional investors who chose to invest in the very platform they rely on to run their businesses.

As investors, we spend a lot of time evaluating technology companies from the outside,” said Brendan Mathews, Managing Partner at Motley Fool Ventures. “With Ridgeline, we had the benefit of hearing directly from trusted colleagues who use the platform every day. Their experience and satisfaction gave us a level of conviction that’s difficult to get from a pitch deck.

“Having experienced Ridgeline as both a customer and a personal investor, I see the opportunity from both sides. The platform represents a step change from the previous systems Smead Capital Management (“SCM”) relied on, helping our existing team do more, make decisions faster, and focus more of our energy on our investors. And the company’s vision and pace give SCM confidence in what Ridgeline is building for this industry,” said Cole Smead, CEO and Portfolio Manager at Smead Capital Management.

As margins tighten across investment management and clients demand more tailored strategies, firms need to create additional capacity with the team they already have. Ridgeline helps them do that by consolidating an average of six to nine legacy systems and combining agentic workflows, human oversight, and fully managed services to reduce operational drag and free their people to focus on higher-value work.

“For decades, investment managers have grown by adding people, systems, and cost nearly in lockstep with revenue. Technology has evolved, but the underlying operating model hasn’t,” said Dave Blair, CEO of Ridgeline. “Ridgeline is changing that equation. By combining a unified platform with AI that can safely perform the work, firms can grow assets, serve more clients, and manage greater complexity without increasing costs at the same rate. That’s the future our customers are investing in, and what this capital will help us deliver faster.”

The company will use the funding primarily to extend its AI capabilities, broaden its managed services offering, establish its customer base in Canada and Europe, and drive further product innovation.
