Employee-led initiative leverages Astrix’s scientific and technology expertise to strengthen global laboratory capacity and expand STEM education
RED BANK, NJ, UNITED STATES, September 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Astrix, the leader in delivering innovative pharmaceutical technology services for the life science community, today announced the launch of The Purpose Lab, an employee-led Community Connections Group focused on turning the company’s sustainability commitments into meaningful community impact.
The Purpose Lab leverages Astrix’s scientific and technology expertise to support under-resourced laboratories, expand access to STEM education, and create opportunities for employees to contribute their skills through community service. The program is built around four areas: pro-bono laboratory consulting, mentorship, tele-science training, and client co-volunteering.
A key component of The Purpose Lab’s global strategy is its partnership with Seeding Labs, which connects organizations with laboratories in need of equipment and expertise. Through the partnership, Astrix volunteers are providing pro-bono consulting to the Centre for Clinical and Biological Sciences Research (CCBSR) at the Malawi University of Science and Technology, supporting the evaluation, configuration, and validation of its information systems.

The Purpose Lab is also launching a STEM outreach pilot in Costa Rica in partnership with Rosalind. Astrix Costa Rica is sponsoring and facilitating volunteer-led workshops for high school students ages 15 to 18, helping expand access to science education and encourage the next generation of scientists and engineers.
